Evening Lecture
by
Peter Dawkins

English-German translation will be provided.

In this talk Peter will introduce participants to the Swan landscape temple of Europe and explain its significance to us and the world generally. Peter will also describe the various key myths associated with the Swan, looking at what they mean, what they teach us and what we could do with this knowledge to help both ourselves and also the whole world.

One of the secrets of life is to breathe well. In both Eastern and Western traditions, the Swan has been a symbol of this perfect, beautiful harmonious breath – a breath that can bring universal consciousness and awareness of all life as divine – a breath that brings joy to the breather and gives joy to others.

Another secret that goes hand in hand with this is doing the right thing in the right place at the right time and with the right orientation or purpose, such a purpose being one of love.

The Bull & Swan of Europe
Europe is named after the myth of Europa and the Bull. The counterpart to the myth of Europa and the Bull is that of Leda and the Swan. Both are relevant to Europe.

The Bull and Swan each represent Zeus (Latin Deus, ‘God’: hence Deus-Pater or Jupiter, ‘Father God’) incarnate in this world for a particular purpose, which is associated with the creation of a new life cycle. This is done in two ways, or at two levels of operation, represented by the Bull and the Swan respectively. In both instances, the creation is associated with the throat chakra.

Geomantically, both the Bull and the Swan (i.e. Zeus) are represented by mainland Europe, whilst both Europa and Leda are signified by the three lands of Scotland-Ireland-Britain. The whole of Europe is associated with the throat chakra of the world, in the planetary chakra system.

The Constance landscape zodiac forms the geomantic heart chakra of mainland Europe.
